We Were First!

Our original doors were so close to the Pacific Ocean that my mother named us, ¨La Mar Toca Bungalows¨--meaning, "the sea touches".

45 years later, we are still proudly a 100%, family-run business. My parents, Carol and Javier, have slowed down but now my brother, Frankie, my nephew, Eric, and I, run the show. Over the years we evolved from being the first Bungalows to being the first private-full-service-wedding-venue in Bucerías, Mexico.

Our passion for service must be in our genes, it is as strong in us now, as when my parents opened back in 1979.

Salt, storms and wear and tear eventually did our bungalows in. They had to be demolished in 2009. So we evolved and adapted. We went from inn-keepers to wedding experts. In the end, it is the same joy of serving and entertaining guests.

We can't wait to share with your guests all of our decor ideas that we have learned about. We want to show you a wedding Martoca style. Full of fun Mexicanness!--Yes, I invented that word.

Martoca Beach Garden History:

1977 Our family moves here and finds the land. Bucerias had no phone services, only telegram service. No gas stations and Nuevo Vallarta didn’t even exist!

1979 The "La Mar Toca Bungalows" open

1984 Our Martoca glass-bottom boat tour opens.

1985 ¨La Bamba¨ restaurant opens in Martoca

2001 The first wedding is held in La Mar Toca Bungalows (our own personal wedding)

2009 La Martoca Bungalows were lost to the hurricane gods.

2010 Martoca Beach Garden as a formal wedding venue is born.

By 2025 we are recognized as the premier independent wedding venue in Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta area; responsible entertaining about 4,000 visitors per year!
